After reviewing numerous requests for tri-fold brochures from 100th Force Support Squadron programs, we hit on an idea that costs no more than the monthly expense of our professionally printed monthly FSS magazine, "Get Up and GO".

Instead of arranging to print stand-alone brochures, the 100th Marketing Dept now includes pull-out tri-fold brochures in the center section of each issue of the "GO" magazine. Readers/patrons are encouraged to pull out the brochure and fold it into a "double tri-fold" (Folding Instructions are printed in the magazine). At the end of the month, used and unused magazines are collected and existing pull-out brochures are removed and folded by staff and displayed at the facility front counter. The remainder of the magazine is recycled*.
To date we have produced pull-out brochures for ITT, Outdoor Recreation, Airman and Family Readiness Center, and the July 4th celebration (in collaboration with RAF Lakenheath Marketing).

A few additional notes: Our "GO" magazine is A4 size, printed on gloss art paper. The center section is therefore A3. We print the same number of magazines as before, but we now get a little additional life out of each left-over copy.

*We also harvest the back cover of the "GO" magazine to be used by the Lodging front counter and the Bob Hope Community Center patrons. The back cover contains a base map on one side and the FSS directory on the other.

Conclusion: This program results in a 2nd life for pages of the magazine that otherwise would just be thrown out. More bang for the FSS NAF buck!

This is an AMAZING concept. RAF Lakenheath happily piggybacked on this idea and we used it in conjunction with RAF Mildenheall in our July Magazine for the 4 July Independence day celebration. We both coordinated our design/marketing efforts to create a pullout map, schedule of events and information brochure conveniently tucked into our magazines.

How about great team work between our two bases!

Kudos RAF Mildenhall for your great innovation!
