    Hi All!

    This is an idea/question.

We are wondering how most marketing departments operate in their daily project management and tracking?

Our department used to operate in that one person was the POC for all facilities. That person would receive all job orders, make copies for each team member and log them into a spreadsheet. Then the designers would randomly pull a job out of a folder to do. ACK!? What we found is that there was a lot lost in communication and not a whole lot of continuity or quality in the customer service being given to our facilities.

    Our solution:
We divided up the work amongst our three designers so that each designer would be a POC for their facility. We created our own publicity request forms, business cards and letterhead. Then, we contacted each facility manager to arrange a meeting to discuss with them our new method of project managment and our job request requirements.

    Our results:
Facility managers are ecstatic! There is greater continuity, improved customer service and ownership of our work. Each designer now logs their work in a group spreadsheet (so that we can measure our productivity at end of year). The designers aren't as stressed out and we're not wasting as much time or paper. Productivity is outstanding now.

I'm sure there are lots of great ways to manage workflow, but here is one method we've been successful with.

Would love to hear how others are doing it.

Attached are samples of our job request orders, letters and business cards.

    All the best,
    Kris Mack
